At Mercat Tours International, remembrance is at the heart of everything we do. Every journey we deliver helps young people connect with the stories, sacrifices and legacies of those who came before us. It is also an opportunity to give something back.
Through our MTI Pledge, we make an annual donation to charities that preserve remembrance and support the Armed Forces community. We're delighted to announce that, thanks to the schools and pupils who travelled with us in 2026, we will be donating:

Talbot House, known as the "Every Man's Club", offered soldiers of all ranks a place of friendship, comfort and respite during the First World War. Today, the charity preserves this unique legacy, welcoming visitors from across the world to discover the human stories behind the conflict.
MTI's connection with Talbot House runs deep. Every pupil who travels with us begins their journey in Flanders at the Pool of Peace, a site purchased on the initiative of Talbot House founder Revd. Tubby Clayton so that future generations could continue to visit, learn and reflect.
Through our annual pledge, every school that travels with MTI helps support the preservation of Talbot House, its artefacts and its stories. As our Managing Director, Kat Brogan, said when the partnership was launched,"The growth and impact of MTI & TH are now connected directly through this pledge. We share our stories and success together."
That means every traveller plays a part in ensuring that future generations can experience the same powerful stories, places and lessons that make battlefield visits so meaningful.
Poppyscotland provides life-changing support to veterans, serving personnel and their families across Scotland. From advice and practical assistance to wellbeing and employment support, the charity helps members of the Armed Forces community overcome challenges and live with dignity and independence.
For many of the young people who travel with us, learning about the impact of war extends beyond the battlefield. Supporting Poppyscotland allows us to contribute to the welfare of those whose lives continue to be shaped by military service today.
These donations are only possible because of the schools, teachers and pupils who choose to travel with MTI each year.
Every tour booked, every pupil who takes part, and every group that visits the battlefields contributes directly to the MTI Pledge. While our travellers come to learn about history, remembrance and the stories of those who served, they also play an important role in supporting organisations that preserve that legacy and care for those connected to it.
