The D-Day Landing Experience moves across the Normandy beaches from east to west, highlighting the successes and the setbacks which the Allied forces met on 6 June 1944.

Your excursion begins with an exploration of the contribution made by the British, and specifically the 6th Airborne Division, to early success on D-Day.

Sites you visit are:

  • Pegasus Bridge
  • Merville Battery
  • Ranville Church and Cemetery
  • Sword Beach

Juno and Gold Beaches

Now it falls to you to witness the role the Canadian Forces made to D-Day. In particular you wil discover how tactics and new weaponry played their part.

This part of your itinerary includes:

  • Courseulles
  • The cemetery at Beny
  • Arromanches Cliffs
  • The Mulberry Harbour
  • Bayeux

Omaha and Utah Beaches

The responsibility for securing the western beachheads fell to the Americans. You learn of the marked contrast in their experience at the two beaches. Finally you compare Allied and German styles of remembrance and have the opportunity to participate in an act of remembrance yourself.
