PERSONAL SECURITY

Mercat Tours International demonstrates its commitment to security in the following ways:

All accommodation is inspected personally by company personnel and pass all relevant local legislation pertains to security, safety and food hygiene.

All guides are approved to work with young people with PVG certificates.

There is a clear demarcation of responsibilities between guide and teaching staff.  Teachers will have sole responsibility for discipline at all times.

We can assist with the completion of risk assessments relating to all the sites we visit.

Our key coach providers have a strong track record for safety and the professionalism of their drivers and fulfil all statutory transport requirements.

Financial Security

In accordance with the EC Directive on Package Holidays, all monies received by Mercat Tours International are deposited in a Trust Fund administered by Protected Trust Services. It means your monies are safeguarded until after the tour and can be refunded to you in case of cancellation by MTI.

  1. Students must carry a current passport. Valid for 10yrs + at least 3mnths on return to UK.

  2. All travellers must carry a valid ETIAS certificate, available here

  3. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain a GHIC Card available here. The GHIC or EHIC is not a substitute for travel insurance. It may not cover all health costs and never covers repatriation costs therefore please make sure you have suitable travel insurance as well as your card.  The NHS provide more information on what GHIC covers here.

  5. Mercat Tours International recommends all students take out travel insurance that covers loss of deposit, cancellation by the student, loss of baggage or money, medical, additional board and travel expenses.
