Your budget also determines your choice of accommodation. Conscious that cost is usually an important consideration for students’ families, Mercat Tours International assumes schools seek hostel accommodation – although we do cater for all price ranges, from hostel to hotels.

All accommodation is selected for its proximity to the battlefield sites. Only accommodation that has been inspected personally by Mercat Tours International staff and that conforms to EU Health and Safety regulations is used.

When negotiating your accommodation it is important to reflect on:

  • The gender balance in your group.
  • How many students you wish in each multi-occupancy room.
  • Need for single rooms, which usually incur an additional charge.
  • Whether you wish en suite or communal washroom facilities.
  • Accommodation for staff.

As it is usually not possible to make changes to accommodation once you are on site, please take care with your requests.

Continental breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals are all included in the price.
