Frequently Asked Questions

I am keen to trace a relative’s grave, but don’t know where that is.

Provide us with his name, date of birth, and address and regiment if you know them and we will conduct the research to trace the final resting place. We do all we can to include a visit to the grave, within the overall framework of the tour.

My elderly mother wishes to come on the tour, but I am concerned at how well she will cope with the experience.

There is no doubt that travelling to and from the battlefields and then getting on and off the bus to visit sites during the day is tiring. The emotional content of the experience also takes its toll.

However, participants in the past have included elderly passengers in their 80s for whom the opportunity to visit the battlefields has far outweighed the physical demands. Overall these are not too strenuous and it is possible to remain on the bus on occasion if it is thought a particular site too difficult.

I am an appalling sailor. Is there any alternative?

We assume you have tried sickness tablets, without success! If you are really unable to face the sea journey you can travel independently to Belgium or France by road/rail/air and meet the party at a pre-arranged location.

Sadly the dates you show for your next tours don’t suit me.

Please use the enquiry form to contact us, notifying us of your interest and of your availability. We will contact you as soon as the dates of future tours are fixed.

I have special dietary needs. Can you accommodate them?

When you make your booking you are asked to state what these are and we make arrangements with the hotel in advance of our arrival.

Is there any time for personal reflection?

Yes. The programme is carefully constructed and focussed so that you gain a comprehensive overview. The majority of time is spent with your guide but time for personal reflection is built in to the experience on an ongoing basis.
